المملكة: 250 zebra birds compete for the best bird in the Kingdom

The “United” exhibition for ornamental birds, which was held at the Gulf Sports Club in Qatif and organized by the Office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, witnessed wide participation from “Zebra” breeders, as there were 10 breeders who presented 250 birds of this type to compete for titles.
Salman Al-Gharafi, President of the Saudi Zebra Finch Club, explained that the exhibition, which includes 6 clubs from various parts of the Kingdom, witnesses wide participation from the Gulf and Arab countries, and includes a jury from inside and outside the Kingdom.
He stressed that zebra birds have developed significantly at the local and global levels, and have become characterized by diverse shapes and colors according to each country.

Bird evaluation

He added that the jury evaluates the participating birds based on the product categories and their colors, and 4 champions are selected from each category, and in the end only one breeder and one bird are crowned.
He pointed out that the judging specifications include the beak, straightness, head, and type of bird’s feathers, stressing that the size of the birds has developed significantly compared to their original habitat.

Al-Gharafi expressed his hope that the competitions would witness Gulf and international participation in the future, hoping to facilitate the procedures for transporting birds to participate in them and recover them, in order to raise the Kingdom’s name in this field.
