Going out into the light of writing… the writer Muhammad Blue, who is blind, illuminated the paths of creativity

In a scene that dedicates inclusivity and highlights diverse talents, the cultural program of the 2024 Jeddah Book Fair, organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority, devoted a distinguished symposium within a workshop titled “Shine from the Literature of the Blind,” to shed light on the career of the writer Muhammad Bello, the story of a blind person who overcame difficulties to shine with his pen. Blue reviewed his inspiring journey by saying: “I was working for Saudi Airlines, and when I turned twenty-five, I lost my sight, which forced me to take early retirement. This made me extremely frustrated, but my life changed when I found the book “Al-Himyan broke the jokes of the blind” in the library of my grandfather, the late writer Taha Zamakhshari. The book was the turning point that brought me out of darkness into the world of writing.”
