On this occasion, His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Energy and Chairman of the KAPSARC Board of Trustees, said: “The Arabic language is not just a means of communication, but rather the essence of our cultural identity and the basis of our scientific and social development, and in light of the major transformations that the Kingdom is witnessing, we are working To strengthen this great legacy to keep pace with the times, by unifying and enriching terminology to reflect innovation and progress.
He continued: “The Arabic language, as it has been throughout history, is capable of being the language of science and the future. It embodies our vision and aspirations towards building an advanced knowledge society, which is confirmed by Saudi Vision 2030, which made the Arabic language an inseparable part of our national identity, and an essential element in achieving… Scientific and cultural progress and comprehensive development.

The head of the KAPSARC Center, Fahd Al-Ajlan, stressed that the KAPSARC Arabic Language Award has proven year after year its success in achieving its goals set to enrich Arabic content specialized in energy, economics and the environment, as the award witnessed in its third session a noticeable expansion in the scope of entries.
He pointed out that this is the first time that the door for participation has been opened to academics and postgraduate students in Saudi universities, in addition to authors and translators who are citizens and residents of the Kingdom.
Al-Ajlan explained that this expansion highlights KAPSARC’s commitment to enhancing the use of the Arabic language in specialized scientific fields and motivating various groups to contribute to enriching Arabic content in these vital and important fields.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washami, said: “We believe that our Arabic language is a language of civilization and culture that has passed through centuries, generations, and civilizations, and many nations have recorded their culture, used its letters, preserved its manuscripts, adopted it as a primary or second language, and dealt with it in many organizations.” In addition, it is the first language for Muslims regarding their rituals, so it deserves to be supported, empowered, and present in the fields of energy, science, medicine, and astronomy.
