Did Asma al-Assad ask to leave Russia? The Kremlin reveals

On Monday, Russian Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov revealed the truth about reports about Asma al-Assad, the wife of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, requesting “special permission to leave Russia.”
The Russian Sputnik news agency quoted Peskov as saying today: “No, this does not correspond to reality.”
This comes in response to circulating reports regarding Asma al-Assad’s request from a Russian court for “special permission” to leave the country, Russia, and that “the request of Bashar al-Assad’s wife is being considered by the Russian authorities.”

Vladimir Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously stressed that the overthrow in Damascus of his close ally, Bashar al-Assad, is not a “defeat” for Moscow, considering that the Russian army present in Syria since 2015 “achieved its goal.”
He said during his major annual press conference: “There are those who are trying to portray what happened in Syria as a defeat for Russia. I assure you that this is not the case.”
