Adopting the energy strategy in Ajman 2030

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Chairman of the Executive Council, approved the Ajman Energy Strategy 2030, which aims to achieve a balance between the needs of economic development, preserving the environment, ensuring energy efficiency and compliance with the best global practices in energy management.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Ajman stressed that the energy strategy in Ajman represents a clear roadmap for achieving a sustainable, safe and advanced energy system by 2030.
His Highness added that, through the implementation of this strategy, the emirate seeks to achieve a balance between the needs of economic development and environmental protection, and to apply the best global practices in energy management, by focusing on growth, sustainability, innovation and economic governance, and creating opportunities for development and enhancing the quality of life.
His Highness said that the Supreme Energy Committee in Ajman worked to develop a strategy to achieve the goal of its formation to regulate the practice of trading in petroleum products in the emirate in accordance with best practices, and to achieve the optimal level in the field of providing services related to the energy sector in the emirate, and to advance the sector in accordance with Global developments…
This came while His Highness chaired the meeting of the Supreme Energy Committee at the government agencies building in the Amiri Diwan in Ajman.
A sustainable and safe energy system
Raed Obaid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Committee, said that the new strategy is based on implementing a sustainable, safe and innovative energy system over the next five years, and aims to implement five main principles: sustainability, transparency, safety, cooperation, integration, and innovation.
He added that the strategy works to enhance the energy sector’s contribution to economic growth in the emirate, enhance security and safety in the energy sector, and achieve consumer happiness.
He stated that the aim of implementing the strategy is to enhance environmental sustainability in the management and use of energy, regulate the trading of petroleum products in accordance with best practices, and improve the level of energy sector services.
Al Zaabi pointed out that the strategy will work to strengthen governance, develop energy trading policies, enhance innovation and investment in the energy field, build specialized human capabilities in the energy sector, and enhance infrastructure and technology in the energy sector.
He said that the basic performance indicators of the strategy are based on measuring the level of customer satisfaction with energy-related services, the number of monitoring and inspection operations carried out annually, and the percentage of decrease in accidents related to the energy sector, in addition to organizing awareness workshops on security and safety in the field of energy, and the percentage of decrease in accidents related to the energy sector. Adherence to safety standards in facilities
He stated that the energy strategy is responsible for identifying establishments that are committed to energy-related legislation, laws and policies, the number of companies operating in energy infrastructure, and the number of training programs provided to workers in the energy sector. It is also responsible for measuring the size of the return on the emirate from energy investment and the percentage of income from Energy, in addition to reducing carbon emissions
He added that according to the strategy, 28 initiatives will be launched aimed at developing human resources working in the sector, improving services, creating an integrated digital system to develop the sector, and raising community awareness of the energy sector, in addition to initiatives for governance, supporting economic growth, and defining policies and legislation regulating energy.
Al Zaabi stressed that developing the strategy aims to achieve the optimal level in the field of providing services related to the energy sector in the emirate, advance the sector and keep pace with global developments used in it, in addition to enhancing security and safety measures in the emirate, and ensuring the commitment of operating establishments and relevant authorities to legislation and decisions.
