A local news report said that China pledged to make efforts to ensure safety in public and crowded places such as: tourist sites, airports, stations, hospitals and stadiums, during the New Year and Lunar New Year holidays in January.

Extremist and violent activities must be resolutely prevented, Xinhua News Agency reported, citing guidance from the State Council.
The directives stated that travel and transportation requirements during the holiday period must be met to the maximum extent and major traffic accidents must be strictly prevented to ensure safety, according to what Bloomberg News reported.
