Italian ship tour "Amerigo Vespucci" Global arrives in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, December 26 / WAM / The historic sailing ship “Amerigo Vespucci”, the training ship and “Made in Italy” ambassador of the Italian Navy, arrives for the first time in its 93-year history, to the Emirates. She will visit Abu Dhabi from December 27 to 31, as part of her global tour that started from Italy on July 1, 2023.

This visit is the thirty-first stop on the ship’s itinerary around the world, as its reception will be held at Port Zayed, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Cruise Ship Terminal and in cooperation with the “Hayakum in Abu Dhabi” initiative.

During its stay in Abu Dhabi, the ship will host the “Villaggio Italia” exhibition, which brings together “citizens of Italian excellence” under its umbrella and celebrates the “Made in Italy” slogan and the close relationship between the Emirates and this country.

Vespucci’s global tour represents a unique opportunity to express the values ​​of the Italian nation, showcase Italian excellence in supply chains and drive the economy, in addition to spreading Italian culture on a global scale. It is an initiative to which Guido Crosetto, the Italian Minister of Defense, pays great attention, and is implemented with the participation of 11 The Ministry, in addition to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Italy, combines traditional naval training with maritime diplomacy for the training ship, with a focus on strengthening Italian excellence in the industry in the main ports covered by the campaign.

This is the seventh stop of the “Villaggio Italia” exhibition, after previous stops in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Darwin, Singapore, Mumbai and Doha.

The activities of the Villaggio Italia exhibition in Abu Dhabi include various fields such as culture, music, art, theatre, design, cinema, conferences, sports, and supporting people of determination, in addition to distinctive dining experiences, where the “Guardia di Finanza” band, led by Maestro Colonel Leonardo Lacerra Ingrosso presented two musical performances, in addition to her participation in official celebrations, as well as concerts by artists from the famous “VeronaArena” Orchestra and the “Dubai Choir”. The Italian artist Jago (Jacopo Cardello) is participating in the “Villagio Italia” exhibition in Abu Dhabi. He is a talented sculptor who gained international fame for being the first to send a marble statue to the International Space Station in 2019, coinciding with the European Space Agency’s mission.

The event’s activities also include events in the fields of design, cinema, children’s activities, and culinary arts, in addition to a group of conferences, including the “Wow – Spirito di Stella” conference to highlight the double-hulled sailing boat that targets military personnel and civilians of determination.
