Mohammed bin Rashid visits an exhibition "Gulfood 2026" At Dubai World Trade Centre

DUBAI, 27 JANUARY / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, today visited part of the activities of the 31st edition of the Gulfood 2026 exhibition at the Dubai World Trade Center, the most prominent event in the world in the food and beverage sector, which witnesses wide international participation that reflects Dubai’s position as a global center for trade and the organization of major events with an economic impact.
His Highness’s visit to the exhibition comes at a time when Gulfood is witnessing the largest expansion in its history, with the participation of more than 8,500 exhibitors from about 195 countries, and the display of more than 1.5 million products in various food industry categories, establishing its role as a comprehensive platform for markets, producers and innovators, and a major hub in the global food system and international supply chains, through its ongoing activities until January 30, coinciding with its holding at the Dubai Center. Exhibition Center at Expo City Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stressed that the UAE continues to support the development of the global food industry, by promoting an integrated environment that keeps pace with the transformations taking place in the sector, and supports innovation and the adoption of modern technologies, which contributes to raising the efficiency of production and trade, enhancing the flexibility of the food system, and ensuring its sustainability in a way that serves economies and societies alike.
His Highness praised the wide international participation in the Gulfood exhibition, and the strong global confidence it reflects in Dubai as a major destination for major businesses and exhibitions, stressing that the exhibition consolidates the emirate’s role as a global platform for linking markets, enhancing the efficiency of supply chains, and supporting a vital sector that constitutes one of the basic engines of economic growth at the global level.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, during his tour during which he was accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Supreme Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline and Group, and His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai World Trade Center Authority and the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai, was keen to inspect a number of countries’ pavilions. And the participating companies, where he learned about their latest food products, innovative solutions and modern technologies that support the development of the food industry and enhance its sustainability.
His Highness’s tour of the exhibition included a visit to the Dutch Pavilion, where he was briefed on the advanced food products and innovative solutions it offers that reflect the Netherlands’ leadership in the fields of sustainable agriculture and food technologies. His Highness listened to an explanation about the adoption of modern technologies to raise production efficiency and enhance the quality of food products destined for global markets. His Highness also visited the Japan Pavilion, which displays a group of advanced food solutions based on innovation and high precision in manufacturing, in addition to focusing on quality and food safety.
His Highness viewed models of products that reflect Japanese progress in developing value-added foods and meeting the requirements of changing global markets.
His Highness stopped at the Italy Pavilion, where he learned about the diversity of Italian food industries, their high quality and ancient industrial heritage, in addition to modern innovations in the fields of manufacturing and packaging, and the role of Italian companies in enhancing their presence in international markets and expanding the scope of their commercial partnerships.
In its largest and most globally representative edition to date, Gulfood is a unified platform for the world’s food economies.
Key producing markets, including Egypt, India, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey and the United States, have strengthened their brand presence, with unprecedented participation by national brands.
The event contributed to opening new trade routes with countries participating for the first time, including Libya, Luxembourg, Rwanda, Slovakia, Sweden and Uganda, which supports global economic growth.
