The White House announced on Friday that indications confirm that the Azerbaijani plane was shot down by a Russian missile.

The White House said: “We have offered to assist in the investigations into the Azerbaijani plane.”

In a previous development, the Azerbaijani authorities reported that they had recovered the second black box from the plane that crashed yesterday, amid the hypothesis that it crashed by a Russian missile, while the Kremlin refused to comment before the end of the investigations.

In turn, the Azerbaijan Airlines company said on Friday that preliminary results showed that its plane that crashed in Kazakhstan on Wednesday was subjected to “external material and technical interference.”

The Kremlin confirmed on Friday that it would not make a comment on the plane crash in Kazakhstan before the end of the investigation, while several newspaper articles indicated the possibility that a missile from Russian air defenses shot it down.
