Fujairah Equestrian Championship 2024 begins
Fujairah, December 27 / WAM / The Fujairah Equestrian Championship (2024) competitions, which are held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, began today, and include 9 international competitions of the three-star category, in the three categories: minor, middle and major.
116 male and female horsemen, accompanied by 170 horses from 28 countries, are participating in the competitions, competing for financial prizes worth 140,000 euros. The competitions will continue until the evening of tomorrow on the sandy field of Fujairah Fort.
The tournament came with the specifications of the two special stages, and the height of its hurdles reached 115 cm, and 51 male and female knights competed, of whom 24 knights succeeded in completing the two stages without error, and with the time difference, the Syrian rider Laith Ghareeb won the lead prize, and he finished the second stage on the horse “Alete du Ponts” in time. He reached 24.34 seconds, and our young rider, Mabkhout Awaidah Al-Karbi, worked hard to catch up with the leader’s time on horseback. “Hollywood”, but he completed the second stage in a time of 25.17 seconds, winning the second place award, and the third place award was won by the Emirati jockey Saleh Mufarrej Al Karbi after he completed the second stage in a time of 25.37 seconds on the horse “Fabiano.”
Show jumping riders from Syria continued to shine and win first place for the second time in a row on the first day of the tournament. The victory was achieved by the jockey Osama Muhammad Al-Zubaibi with the horse “Flash Gordon 30” in a competition in the middle category, with one-round specifications, over hurdles that reached a height of 130 cm, and competed It includes 45 male and female riders, 13 of whom succeeded in completing the round without error, and with the time difference, the rider, Osama Al-Zubaibi, was crowned after achieving the best time with… “Flash” reached 57.03 seconds, and the second place award was also won by the Syrian jockey Hadi Nizam and the mare “Cindy”, with whom he completed the round in a time of 59.75 seconds. The third place award was won by the German jockey Sophie Henners, accompanied by the mare “Noraya 3”, and she completed the round in a time of 57.03 seconds. 63.32 seconds.
The competitions of the first day of the Fujairah International Three-Star Show Jumping Championship concluded with a victory in which the Syrian show jumping riders completed control of the titles of the first day’s competitions. The victory this time came from the Syrian horsewoman Aya Hamsho on the back of her horse “Emoji Hero” in a major category competition. According to the specifications of one round, with barriers reaching a height of 145 cm, with the participation of 18 male and female riders, 4 of whom succeeded in completing the round without error.
The jockey Aya Hamsho won for completing the round in a time of 63.11 seconds, and the second place award was won by the Emirati jockey Saif Awaidah Al Karbi with the horse “Dinky Toy Z”. He completed the round in a time competing for the lead and amounted to 63.29 seconds, and the third place award was won by the Syrian jockey Laith Ali and the horse. “Camelia de L’Evigne”, and he finished the round with her in a time of 68.72 seconds.
