The launch of the Sharjah Scout Theater Festival

Sharjah, December 28 / WAM / The activities of the 12th session of the Sharjah Scout Theater Festival kicked off yesterday evening, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and organized by the Department of Culture in cooperation with the Sharjah Scouts Commission.

The opening ceremony was attended by Abdullah Al Owais, Head of the Department and Head of the Festival, Ahmed Burahima, Director of the Department of Theater Administration and Director of the Festival, Major General Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Scouts Commission, and many scouting events.

The opening activities took place in the front yard of the headquarters of the Sharjah Scout Commission, and in a site designed in a circular shape to resemble a scout camp. The ceremony began with a speech by the Sharjah Scout Commission presented by Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, in which he extended thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, patron of the Scout movement and supporter of theater and playwrights.

He said that the Scout Theater Festival was established as an embodiment of the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and it reflects the Emirate’s keenness to empower tomorrow’s generations with the means and skills that help them enhance their experiences and capabilities, and open ways for them to pursue the best horizons in the future, reviewing the bright path of the festival, and how it contributed. In enriching the local theatrical scene with many promising talents.

On the first day, the audience witnessed four short performances that the scout teams participated in writing and embodying, and they were successively titled “Seven Faces of Life,” “Dreams,” “Pottery,” and “Barista,” and their contents touched on various issues.

At the conclusion of the presentations, the jury, which included Dr. Muhammad Youssef, Magdy Mahfouz, and Ahmed Al-Badri, distributed the daily prizes.
