Disturbances and delays in British air traffic… for this reason
This occurred due to heavy fog and low visibility, which restricted air traffic on one of the busiest holidays of the year.
Flight delays
Gatwick Airport in London warned that some flights may be delayed throughout Saturday, and apologized for the inconvenience, while flights were delayed up to three hours yesterday, Friday, due to bad weather conditions.
At least 40 flights from the airport, most of them short trips to Europe, were delayed on Saturday morning.
Heathrow Airport, one of the busiest airports in Europe, recommended passengers check with their airlines about potential delays.
British airports
Disturbances were reported at other airports in the UK, including London Stansted and Manchester Airport.
The British Meteorological Office said that dense fog could reduce visibility to only 100 meters in some areas across the country.
He recommended travelers allocate “extra time” for trips and called on drivers to be extremely careful, and the Meteorological Office expected improved weather conditions tomorrow, Sunday.
