On charges of defamation and insults.. Haifa Wehbe to the judiciary!

The crisis renewed between the Lebanese artist Haifa Wehbe and her former business manager, Khaled El-Tohamy, as the latter filed an official complaint with the Musical Professions Syndicate on December 22, 2024, including accusations of defamation and insult, after he broke up with Haifa Wehbe about six months ago.

The two parties exchanged accusations through social media, as Khaled El-Tohamy mentioned in his complaint to the head of the Musicians Syndicate, Mustafa Kamel, that he was surprised on December 16, 2024 by statements from Haifa Wehbe through her Instagram account, accusing him of sabotaging her voice at her last concert in Egypt.

He also said that Haifa Wehbe accused him of concluding agreements for her business without her knowledge, which he considered a distortion of his reputation.

El-Tohamy called on the Musical Professions Syndicate to investigate these accusations, and to summon the sound engineer who worked at the concert to verify the validity of the allegations.

He added in his complaint that the main reason for leaving work with Haifa Wehbe was his discovery of a video on YouTube that contained offensive statements by the artist towards the Egyptian people, explaining that he decided not to continue working with someone who insults his country’s fans in this way.

He stressed that he is demanding his rights and the rights of the Egyptian people to respond to these false allegations.

One of the press sites contacted the official spokesman for the Musicians Syndicate, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah, to discuss the union’s position on this crisis, as he confirmed that the official complaint had already arrived from Haifa Wehbe’s business manager, but it was under study.

Abdullah added that the union council is still studying the details of the complaint before issuing any final decision, explaining that the union is carefully reviewing all aspects of the issue before taking any action, especially since the incident dates back to years ago before Mustafa Kamel took over the Musicians Syndicate.
