المملكة: Launching the AlUla Camel Races to enhance its leadership as a home for traditional sports

AThe Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate, in cooperation with the Saudi Camel Federation, announced the inclusion of AlUla Camel Track among the fields that host camel races, in a step that contributes to consolidating AlUla’s position as a leading destination for traditional sports in the region.
The races started in October 2024, and will continue until April 2025, in the camel field in the Mughira Heritage Sports Village, which includes fields and facilities designated for these races, on an area of ​​​​more than 50 million square meters.
So far, the race is witnessing more than 1,557 participants, including camel, mount and camel owners coming from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.

Organizing the AlUla Camel Races comes within the efforts of the Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate to support heritage sports and celebrate authentic culture and heritage, in addition to improving the quality of life in the region, as the field witnesses the holding of 13 camel races during the season with the aim of supporting owners and sports lovers in the region.
The racecourse, which extends over an area of ​​25 square kilometers in southern AlUla, including an 8km racing track and a 6km training track, represents the ongoing ambition to support and develop heritage sports in AlUla.
