The Industrial Standard closed the trading session down by 418.48 points, or 1.0%, to reach 42573.73 points.
The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 index lost 63.90 points, or 1.1%, to 5,906.94 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index of technology stocks lost 235.25 points, or 1.2%, to reach 19,486.78 points.
