ABU DHABI, 1st January / WAM / A number of winners of the title of “Knight of the Mankus” confirmed that the “Mankus” program, produced by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, succeeded over its four seasons in shedding light on the melody of the Mankus, one of the melodies of Batti poetry, and also contributed to achieving the sustainability of the heritage. .
They said in special statements on the sidelines of the program’s fourth season, which is being held at Al Raha Beach Theater in Abu Dhabi, that the program has become a platform that combines authenticity and creativity, and each season graduates 18 stars who perform the Mankos tune.
They praised the strong competitions in the program, which is organized within the framework of the Authority’s keenness to introduce popular heritage and enhance its role in building national identity, as the “Mankus” program is the first of its kind to specialize in the Mankus melody from the heritage of Nabati poetry, and it has won its title over the past three seasons. Stars, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, and the United Arab Emirates.
For his part, Mohammed bin Hussein Al Rashidi from the Sultanate of Oman, who won the title of “Knight of the Mankus” in the third season, said that his dream turned into a reality and a tangible reality after winning the title in the third season, indicating that he had dreamed of participating in a unique heritage program based on sound without instruments. Musically, the “Mankus” program came to fulfill his dream of showing his voice through his performance of the art of Mankus, which carries the heritage of fathers and grandfathers.
He added that the challenge in the program was not easy because the participants in the season are elite performers in the Arab Gulf countries, who have great experience and strong and beautiful voices, but the competition was honorable and interesting and carried the spirit of challenge in its various stages until he was able, with determination and training, to conquer the law and win a wide audience. He added that each of the Mankos stars participating in the program has great confidence in qualifying in all episodes thanks to the deep knowledge and good knowledge of the Mankos tune, expressing his pride and pride in obtaining first place, as he entered the program enthusiastic and confident of achieving his dream and obtaining the title of knight of the season.
He pointed out that the program contributes to highlighting the performers of the Mankos melody at the level of the Arabian Gulf, and provides the opportunity to get to know an elite group of stars of this art from several countries, in addition to benefiting from the interaction between the participants and the exchange of experiences and knowledge between them, which enriches the experience and makes it more comprehensive and distinguished.
