The Egyptian Opera House continues with the star Ali El Haggar on a journey "100 years of singing"

Within the activity plan of the Ministry of Culture, and under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, the Egyptian Opera House, headed by Dr. Lamia Zayed, continues the series of performances of the artistic project “100 Years of Singing.” Which is held in cooperation with the star Ali El Haggar, as it begins the new year 2025 with an evening to honor the name of the late artist Ahmed El Haggar, with the participation of the two stars Anushka, Hisham Abbas, and the promising Ahmed Ali El Haggar, and directed by Essam El Sayed, at eight in the evening, Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Grand Theater.
The concert reviews the artistic journey of the late Ahmed Al-Hajjar through a group of his famous works, including My Beloved Brother, Call Me, Excuse Me, I Am Becky O Samra Akon, I was thinking, when are those in love, I caught the threads of the sun, in every cup of coffee, I was dreaming, I have nothing but a heart, I am your dream, dreams, I love you and the bird has flown, do not ask me, my turn and turn, come back, when winter knocks on the chime, feelings Honor us, O Lord. It is worth noting that the artist Ahmed Al-Hajjar is one of the most famous singers and composers of the 1990s. He belongs to an artistic family. His father, Ibrahim Al-Hajjar, is one of the most prominent musicians of the twentieth century and a preserver of the singing heritage. His brother, the star Ali Al-Hajjar, joined the Higher Institute of Arab Music and learned to play the oud and the piano.
He also studied musical notes and Eastern and Western maqams, and began his professional career during his first-year studies, where he composed the melody of “Excuse Me” To his brother “Ali Al-Hajjar” Then his artistic works continued between composing and singing, and he collaborated with many stars of the nineties, including Hisham Abbas, Alaa Abdel Khaleq, Angham, Anushka and others, and the song “Oud” was… This is the beginning of his fame as a singer. He released 4 singing albums that achieved great success. He died in 2022 at the age of 65.
It is noteworthy that the artistic project “100 Years of Singing” It includes a series of performances that monitor the history of Arabic music and singing and its development during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, while dealing with the most important musicians during that period in a form that combines singing with drama and show. It aims to confirm Egypt’s artistic leadership in this field and introduce new generations to the heritage and express the social and political transformations that it went through.
