المملكة: The Minister of Islamic Affairs launches technical guides for building and developing mosques
This was in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Abdul Latif Al Fawzan Award for Mosque Architecture.
During the ceremony, Minister Al-Sheikh affirmed in his speech the directives of the wise leadership – may God support them – to achieve a comprehensive renaissance in all fields concerned with building the nation and the citizen and implementing the concept of a comprehensive planning system, by working to integrate the concept of sustainable development and sustainable communities into the core of the urban planning process, stressing the The Ministry seeks, along with other government agencies, to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Building and developing mosques
He explained that the technical guides for building and developing mosques, compatible with the Saudi Building Code, contain 12 guides approved by the National Committee for the Saudi Building Code, which include all information for building and developing mosques in the Kingdom, including legal, administrative, engineering, health, and operational requirements. They are also the first guides issued in the world for building construction. And the development of mosques is consistent with the pioneering role of the Kingdom due to its position in the hearts of Muslims.

The Minister expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them – for the blessed efforts they are making for the sake of elevating and advancing this country, and taking care of everything that… It would serve Islam and Muslims.
After that, the Secretary-General of the Abdul Latif Al-Fozan Award for Mosque Architecture, Dr. Mishari Abdullah Al-Naim, delivered a speech in which he noted the importance of preserving the cultural symbols that define the identity of nations, the most important of which is the mosque, which is a symbol that reflects the identity of Islamic societies before the world, indicating that the award has sought since its establishment about 15 years ago. In general, we will launch technical guides for building mosques, which will have a significant impact on changing the architecture culture of mosques around the world.

For his part, His Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz stressed, in his speech, that the Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Trustworthy Crown Prince – may God protect them – is moving to great dimensions and has leadership in charitable work, especially in building and architecture of mosques, noting the ministry’s efforts to carry out its duty towards the houses of God. And the role played by non-profit charitable organizations in this field.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Prince Sultan bin Salman and the Minister of Islamic Affairs honored a number of partners in preparing technical guides for building and developing mosques, and then memorial photos were taken on this occasion.
In a press statement following the ceremony, His Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman explained that the Kingdom is witnessing today, thanks to the support of the wise leadership – may God support it – rapid developments that have contributed to focusing on the completion of various projects, especially with regard to the Two Holy Mosques and serving the Houses of God in various regions of the Kingdom.
