10 minutes response time to provide a translator at Dubai Prosecution

The Public Prosecution in Dubai has strengthened the translation sector with innovative work mechanisms and technologies, according to goals and indicators to measure the speed of service provision, which includes providing a translator for the prosecutor in investigations within just 10 minutes.

She stressed the importance of the translation sector, which supports the achievement of justice in various ways, noting that she was keen to provide a team of qualified judicial professional translators with expertise in judicial translation of personal statements, written documents, and audio recordings related to lawsuits with complete efficiency, skill, honesty, and error-free accuracy.

The statistics of written translations of documents that were received and completed in full by the Translation Division reached 100% on time.

As for requests for interpretations for the year 2024, they reached 4,980 requests, and she explained that the happiness index of the Translation Division’s employees for the year 2022 reached 98.8%, while it rose to 99.9% in 2023.

The Dubai Public Prosecution – as the first judicial department in the world – has obtained the international standard for the ISO 17100:2015 translation system since 2017, and it is renewed annually without any corrective action or comments.

In light of the Dubai Prosecution’s constant endeavor to provide proactive initiatives that suit the needs of people of determination, save them time and effort, and seek to integrate them into society, it has added to its package of services the sign language translation service for people with hearing disabilities, with the aim of meeting the requirements of all its clients with the best and most modern means possible.

Believing in the importance of training and continuing education and preparing and empowering competencies – which is one of the department’s goals, so that it is closer to the needs of internal and external customers – members of the Translation Division family have joined many workshops, seminars, specialized courses and others, the most prominent of which are the Dubai Translation Conference and an advanced skills workshop in… Oral and written interpretation, and a workshop on anticipating the future and remote work aimed at identifying the technical preparations of government agencies, to provide a high-level work environment.

In implementation of the directives of the Dubai Smart Government strategy towards “paperless transformation” in all its operations, and the directives of the “paperless” transactions team to dispense with paper in our support operations, paper has been eliminated by 100%, as the outputs of the Translation Division are signed electronically.
