المملكة: “Internal Medical Services”…achievements that enhance digital transformation and health care

During the year 2024, the General Administration of Medical Services at the Ministry of Interior strengthened its position as one of the most prominent leading providers of advanced health care in the Kingdom, by achieving outstanding achievements that contributed to enhancing digital transformation, the scope of health services, and raising the level of medical care provided in its hospitals.
The General Administration of Medical Services witnessed a qualitative shift in the digital transformation measurement index, as the percentage increased from 41.69% to 74.9%.
The launch of the Center for Remote Vital Signs Monitoring, which is an innovative technology for monitoring critical health cases with high efficiency, and achieving 82% digital integration by linking 24 specialized clinic centers to its hospitals, which contributed to improving medical coordination and developing the quality of services.

10 new health services

As part of its strategy to enhance digital transformation and facilitate access to health services, the medical services added 10 new health services to the “Absher” platform, facilitating beneficiaries’ access to health care electronically.
In laboratories, the capacity for tests increased by 25%, thanks to artificial intelligence technologies that contributed to improving the speed and accuracy of diagnosis.
On the medical level, Security Forces Hospitals have achieved medical achievements, most notably a medical team at the Security Forces Hospital in Riyadh performing a rare 15-hour surgery on a woman suffering from the genetic “Klippel Weil” syndrome.
At the Security Forces Hospital in Dammam, a medical team succeeded in discovering and treating a rare case of “Kimura” disease, which is an inflammatory disease of unknown cause, which reflects the skill of the medical staff.

5037 trainees annually

The General Administration was able to achieve significant development in the field of training and development, and the number of trainees reached 5,037 trainees annually, an increase of 62% compared to previous years, and 193 graduates were trained within specialized medical graduate programs.
In the field of innovation, the administration organized the “Security Health Hackathon” with the participation of 60 teams that presented innovative solutions to support the health sector, in addition to creating a correctional medicine fellowship to enhance rare specialties.
These achievements reflect the Ministry of Interior’s keenness to develop health services according to the highest standards, based on advanced technology and qualified competencies, in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership to achieve Saudi Vision 2030.
