One of the biggest crises currently facing Al-Abyad is the file for renewing the contract of Ahmed Mostafa Zizou, the team’s star, who is now entitled to sign for any team and leave for free at the end of the current season. 

Negotiations are still ongoing between the Zamalek administration and Zizou’s father, and the two parties have not reached a point of agreement for the renewal to be officially announced.

Zizou’s file is considered the most dangerous on Zamalek’s table, because the player is now in a grace period, and has the right to Legally sign For any other club.

Zamalek fans are awaiting the matter with caution, fearing the large offers that will reach the player, especially from Saudi League clubs.

Tunisian Saif Al-Din Al-Jaziri, the team’s striker, warned the Zamalek administration before filing a complaint against the club with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), due to late payments, which are 3 months’ salary. The start of the current season, in addition to the old dues amounting to $550,000, of which the player received only one payment, and did not receive the rest of the payments.

Tunisian Ferjani Sassi, the former Zamalek player, and Jimmy Pacheco, the former coach of Al-Abyad, filed a case against the club with FIFA.

Ferjani Sassi’s demands are estimated at 696 thousand euros, while Pacheco is demanding 451 thousand euros from Zamalek, and Zamalek has reached the last stage of litigation in the two cases before the Swiss Federal Court.

The El-Abyad administration is trying to convince the duo to pay instalments. The fine is a last resort for fear of ruling against the club and suspending the registration again, in light of the difficulty of arranging the amount in one go, amid the financial crises that Zamalek is experiencing.

Zamalek Club has become urgently required to pay the club’s debts to the Football Association before new deals are registered this January.

Zamalek’s debts to the Football Association amount to 60% One million pounds, and the Football Association confirmed that no deals will be registered for clubs that have not paid their due debts.
