Pope Tawadros receives the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, the Minister of Endowments, the Mufti, the Undersecretary of Al-Azhar, and religious leaders to congratulate him on Eid

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria – Patriarch of the See of Mark, received His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar. His Eminence Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments; His Eminence Professor Dr. Nazir Ayyad, Mufti of the Republic, and His Eminence Professor Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Rahman al-Duwaini, Deputy of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and President of Al-Azhar University, his deputies, and a number of Al-Azhar’s men and leaders, to congratulate you on the Merry Christmas.

 

His Holiness the Pope welcomed all attendees, thanking them for their presence and congratulating them, hoping that the coming days will be days of happiness and blessings for the land of Egypt and all peoples. Emphasizing that Christ’s message in society, in life, and in humanity revolves around peace, citing what was stated in (Luke 2:14): “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”

 

In his speech, His Eminence the Grand Imam congratulated Professor Dr Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, His Holiness the Pope, stressing the continuity of affection, friendship, harmony and acquaintance, and that Muslims carry in their hearts all the love and affection for their brothers.

 

His Eminence called for an urgent end to the suffering of the people of Gaza. Calling on the world to intervene quickly to stop this tragedy, which has no parallel in the history of criminals Before.

 

 

In his speech, His Eminence Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, extended his warmest congratulations to His Holiness the Pope and to all the Christian brothers in the land of Egypt. And in the entire world, and for every human being on the face of the earth, on the occasion of the birth of our Lord Christ, Jesus, son of Mary – peace be upon him – whom God Almighty made a door of righteousness, loyalty, tenderness, mercy, and knowledge, and God made him God Almighty is a sign of giving, tolerance, and peace. May the prayers and blessings of God Almighty be upon our master Jesus, upon our master Muhammad, upon our master Moses, and upon all of God’s prophets.

 

The minister affirmed his happiness and that of all Egyptians for the new year, wishing May God Almighty make this year for Egypt and its people and for the peoples of the entire world a year of security, prosperity, preservation, security, stability, light, wisdom and insight. And to preserve Egypt and all its honorable people until the Day of Resurrection as honorable, honorable, cooperative and harmonious, praying to God – Glory be to Him – for our brothers in Palestine that God may lift this great distress from them, and to prepare for us what they aspire to of establishing the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, offering the highest advance. Verses of congratulations and prayers to His Excellency Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic (may God protect him), and to support May God Almighty grant him his effort, and may God Almighty direct his shot, and may God Almighty protect the great army of Egypt and its brave soldiers with his beautiful protection, and may God Almighty strengthen the ground beneath their feet, and cast terror into the hearts of their enemies and preserve Egypt through them, praying to God Almighty to grant us all success. We offer Egypt and all humanity all righteousness, goodness and prosperity.

 

In his speech, he congratulated His Eminence Professor Dr. Nazir Ayyad, the Mufti of the Republic, His Holiness the Pope, the honorable fathers, and the entire people of Egypt, praying to God Almighty to make it a year of goodness and blessings, congratulating the government, leadership and people of Egypt on this happy occasion.
