$1.3 billion in foreign direct investment flows to Jordan in 9 months

Amman, January 5, 2024 – Inward foreign direct investment flows into Jordan amounted to $1.3 billion during the first nine months of 2024, compared to $1.6 billion during the same period in 2023.
According to preliminary data on the balance of payments reported by the Jordan News Agency, foreign direct investment flows increased during the third quarter of 2024, to $457.8 million, an increase of 3.7 percent, compared to the same period in 2023.
The Arab countries accounted for 49.1 percent of the total flows during the first nine months of last year, led by the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which contributed 31.7 percent of the total of these investments, while the European Union countries accounted for 11.5 percent, with the Netherlands topping the list with 4.9 percent. percent, followed by France with 3.5 percent, and non-Arab Asian countries accounted for 7.2 percent, with China topping the list with 2.5 percent and India with 2.1 percent, while Other countries together accounted for 32.2 percent of total FDI inflows.
