"Al Ain Dates" It continues its activities and crowns the winners with a bid "Salvation"

Al Ain, January 6 / WAM / The Al Ain Dates Festival, in its first session, continues its activities in the Hili Oasis in Al Ain, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.

Yesterday witnessed the announcement of the results of the “Al-Khalas” competition, in which 21 contestants participated with a quantity of dates amounting to 1,050 kilograms, while this morning the festival will receive entries from the “Al-Dabbas” competition, the results of which will be announced during the evening.

Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Acting Executive Director of the Festivals and Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, and His Excellency Mohammed Ghanem Al Mansouri, Executive Vice President of Al Foah Dates Company, were crowned the winners of the auction.

The value of the competition prizes amounted to 226 thousand dirhams for ten winners, where the first place holder received 50 thousand dirhams, the second place received 40 thousand dirhams, and the third place received 30 thousand dirhams.

The activities of the Al Ain Dates Festival, in its first session, witness a wide audience of all ages following its heritage programs and its various entertainment and awareness activities.

The date auction also attracts large numbers of crowds. As eight o’clock approaches, people of all ages and backgrounds gather to attend these exciting moments, which have become a daily tradition within the festival’s activities.

In yesterday’s date auction, the highest selling value for a box of the “Zamili” variety was 4,000 dirhams, while the total sales amounted to 139,980 dirhams, and the quantity of dates sold amounted to 3,520 kilograms, with a total of 1,064 boxes.

The auction is a major platform for competing for the finest types of dates that the region is famous for.
