Today..the birth anniversary of the artist Mohsen Sarhan

Today is the anniversary of the birth of the artist Mohsen Sarhan, who was considered one of the icons of Egyptian cinema from the 1950s to the 1990s, as he was distinguished by his ability to present various roles between romantic and comedic.

Sarhan was born on January 6th. 1916 in Port Said, where he obtained a baccalaureate, then came to Cairo and worked as an employee in the Ministry of Agriculture. He loved acting.

His brilliance in the sport of boxing helped him enter the world of art, where he qualified. His strong physical build attracted the attention of many directors during that period. Mohsen Sarhan began his first film with Mary Queenie in 1938, which was “The Pasha’s Daughter the Director,” and in 1940 he made the film “In Search of Women,” which achieved great success. He then did liberal studies in the arts of cinema and theater in 1944 and joined In the national band. He was famous in the beginning for the roles of the hero’s friend, “Shatti Al-Gharam” with Laila Murad, and “Qisma wa Naseeb”with Yehia Shaheen, but he won the absolute lead in several films after that, such as “Samara” and “The Goblin of Samara.”  Greetings, Carioca, which is the turn The most famous in his artistic history are “Toha” with Hind Rostom, “I Almost Demolished My House” with Raqia Ibrahim, and other films.

Mohsen Sarhan continued to work in cinema until he was old, then he presented “Woman.” “Destined to fall”” with Yousra, and “circle.” “Death” with Samah Anwar, and “Al-Mushagabat and Al-Captain” with Athar Al-Hakim, and his works reached approximately 119 works. The artist Mohsen Sarhan presented a number of successful series to the radio, including “Samara” ,” “Toha”” ,” “Zanoba””  and “The Rose Seller” Mohsen Sarhan was married 4 times, one of which was to the artist Samiha Ayoub, with whom he had children. One son, and the rest are from outside the artistic community.

Among the aspects of appreciation that Mohsen Sarhan received was that he received the Order of the Republic in 1964, and the Golden Certificate of Appreciation from the Egyptian Society of Writers and Film Critics for leadership in acting in 1983, and a Television Shield in 1985, until he died on February 7, 1993 at the age of 77.
