19,275 completed buildings in Abu Dhabi until September 2024

ABU DHABI, 6 JANUARY / WAM / Construction activity in Abu Dhabi achieved remarkable growth during the past year 2024, as the emirate witnessed the completion of about 19,275 buildings during the first nine months of the year, including the completion of new building construction, modifications, and additions, in all regions of the emirate. .
Based on preliminary official data issued by the Department of Municipalities and Transport and the Statistics Center in Abu Dhabi, the buildings were distributed by 17,394 new buildings in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, while additions were completed in 733 buildings during the same period, in addition to modifying 1,148 other buildings.
The total building permits issued by the emirate during the first three quarters of 2024 amounted to about 6,677 permits, including 4,732 new building permits and 1,518 modification permits, in addition to the issuance of 427 permits for additions.
Residential permits received the largest share of the total, as 3,722 residential construction permits were issued, followed by commercial construction permits with 1,596 permits until the end of last September, while the other licenses were distributed between industrial purposes, with 435 permits, and building public facilities, with 587 permits, in addition to 169 permits. Agricultural construction and others with 168 permits.
In detail about the construction activity in the emirate, the city of Abu Dhabi topped the scene after the completion of 13,860 buildings from January 2024 until the end of September, most of which were in the “new construction” category, while the city issued 4,780 new licenses, according to data issued by the Statistics Center in Abu Dhabi. .
The number of completed buildings in the city of Al Ain reached about 4,906 buildings, including 4,329 new buildings, while Al Ain issued 1,508 new licenses during the same period.
Based on the data released, 509 new buildings were completed in Al Dhafra, most of them during the first quarter of last year, while 389 licenses were issued.
