The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament calls for a session to elect the President of the Republic next Thursday

The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, called for a general session to be held, next Thursday, to elect a president for the Lebanese Republic.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported, today, Tuesday, that the session scheduled to be held the day after tomorrow, will be held at noon. 11:00 pm (local time).

It is noteworthy that since October 31, 2022, Lebanon has been experiencing a presidential vacancy crisis with the departure of the Lebanese President, General Michel Aoun, from the palace. Republican after the end of his term, without Parliament being able to elect a successor, within the constitutional deadline that began at the beginning of September 2022.
