Arab Plast Exhibition: International companies expanding in the region across the Emirates

DUBAI, 7 JANUARY / WAM / Officials participating in the 17th session of the “Arab Plast 2025” international trade exhibition for plastics, recycling, petrochemicals, packaging and rubber industries stressed the importance of the UAE to international companies operating in the plastics and petrochemicals sector as a strategic platform to enhance expansion in the markets of the region and the world.
Officials of international pavilions told the Emirates News Agency, WAM, during the exhibition, which continues until January 9, that the attention of international companies, especially Western ones, is turning to the Emirates as a strategic center and gateway to the Middle East and African markets, and that the Emirates is one of the most prominent global markets that are keen to Companies are trying to find a foothold.
Nidal Muhammad Kadar, Director of the Arab Plast Exhibition, confirmed that the exhibition represents a major meeting point for companies from around the world to showcase the latest innovations and technologies in the plastics sector, noting the participation of more than 750 companies.
He explained that the slogan of the exhibition this year focuses on sustainability and recycling, with the aim of pushing the sector towards more environmentally friendly solutions, as international companies seek to introduce them to new technology and sustainable practices, which enhances opportunities for cooperation and growth in this vital sector.
Regarding the importance of Dubai and the UAE as a major center for international exhibitions, he stressed that the UAE is considered a strategic gateway to the Middle East and African markets and even global markets, as companies find Dubai a commercial center that provides an ideal environment for growth and expansion.
He stressed that “Arab Plast” is not just an exhibition, but rather an opportunity to enhance communication between local and international companies, and explore new partnerships that support sustainable growth in the sector.
For his part, Florin Mikulash, responsible for the German pavilion at the exhibition, stressed the importance of the UAE market in the plastics industries and advanced machinery sector, noting the participation of nearly 70 German companies in the pavilion this year.
Mikulash, who represents the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), headquartered in Frankfurt, explained that companies in this industry cover a wide range of areas of the plastics industry, from raw materials to advanced machinery.
He expressed his optimism about the region’s market, as there are promising opportunities for growth and expansion, pointing out that the exhibition and the UAE in general can constitute a gateway to various markets.
He spoke about the strength of trade relations between German and Emirati companies, noting that Germany ranks second as the largest supplier of advanced machinery to the Emirati market.
Mikulash pointed out that the UAE market is one of the largest markets in the Middle East.
For her part, Marika Mag, responsible for the Italian pavilion at the exhibition, confirmed that Italy pays great attention to the UAE market and considers it a major platform for expanding business in the region.
She explained that the Italian pavilion includes 40 companies, making it one of the most important national pavilions participating in the exhibition.
MAG pointed out that many Italian companies have branches or partnerships in Dubai and the Emirates, which reflects the depth of commercial relations between the two parties.
She added that the UAE is one of the most important markets for exporting Italian plastic products, as companies are keen to expand their export scope and find local agents to enhance their presence and increase production.
Marika spoke about the aspirations of Italian companies to expand their business in the region through the Emirates, stressing that these companies seek to develop their commercial networks and attract more customers in the region.
She also confirmed that the demand for participation in the pavilion increases with each session of the exhibition, which reflects the growing confidence of Italian companies in the UAE market and its promising future.
For her part, Farah Abdel Hamid, media director of “Arab Plast”, said that Dubai’s strategic location as a gateway to the Middle East and Africa region and its excellence in organizing major international exhibitions makes this event an ideal platform for meeting leaders of the petrochemical and plastics industry in the region and the world, and contributes to building strong partnerships between manufacturers and investors.
