المملكة: Photos| 20 of the finest varieties decorate the Citrus Fire Festival
A number of citrus growers and producers in Al Hareeq Governorate showcased the finest types of their distinct citrus products, during the activities of the ninth Al Hareeq Citrus Festival, organized by the National Agricultural Services Company in the governorate.
The number of local citrus species showcased at the festival reached more than 20 diverse varieties, which succeeded in attracting visitors. For its quality, taste, and innovative presentation.

Citrus Fire Festival
During these days, Al-Hariq Governorate turned into a carnival of joy and various entertainment and artistic celebrations, while the festival witnessed the attendance of more than (45) thousand visitors, bringing the total attendance since its inception to more than (262) thousand visitors.

The large numbers of visitors and guests of the festival of various categories interacted with its activities and programs, which gained their approval. The segment of visiting the citrus farms received the largest share of interaction and admiration from the visitors, who enjoyed special moments of generous hospitality and welcome from the farm owners, in addition to their enjoyment of learning about… Stages of cultivation and production of citrus fruits, and enjoying their varied and beloved flavours.

Citrus Festival
The festival included more than (50) pavilions dedicated to displaying various types of citrus products, where exhibitors competed to highlight the finest local varieties for which the governorate is famous, in addition to agricultural products from other crops.

Among the most prominent citrus varieties produced by Al-Harij Governorate are Abu Surra oranges, Valencia “summer” oranges, sugar oranges, shamouti, Abu Damah oranges, chemoquats, and local oranges, in addition to dahlia lemons, pomelo lemons, tarring, limoquats, bin Zuhair lemons, and lemons. Sweet, along with red and yellow grapefruit, and various tangerine varieties, the most prominent of which is tangerine Mandarin, quinoa, Abu Shabaka, clementine, Murket, yellow tangerine, and baladi.

The production of Al Hariq Governorate of citrus is about (5000) tons annually, produced by (350) existing farms in the governorate, and containing (100) thousand trees. This makes the fire one of the most important citrus-producing governorates within all regions of the Kingdom.
