المملكة: Amending the standards of domestic workers…the bracket system instead of the 30%

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development revealed a new amendment to the minimum standards for domestic workers in human resources companies operating in the Kingdom. Instead of the previous fixed percentage, which was estimated at 30%, the percentages are now calculated according to varying segments that depend on the size of the company’s workforce.
According to the new circular, companies with less than 3,000 workers will commit to a minimum of 30% domestic workers. As for companies whose number of workers ranges between 3,000 and 10,000, the percentage is reduced to 20%.
If the number of workers exceeds 10,000 and reaches 15,000, the required percentage becomes only 10%.
As for companies whose number of workers exceeds 15,000, the percentage of domestic workers will not be counted among their standards unless the number of support workers is less than 15,000.

This amendment comes in light of the noticeable increase in the number of domestic workers in the Kingdom, as about 234 thousand new domestic workers joined the labor market during the past year, bringing the total number of domestic workers of both sexes to 3.97 million individuals, including 2.73 million men and 1 million men. 25 million women.
These workers are distributed among many professions, the most prominent of which are servants, drivers, cooks, house guards, nurses, and private teachers.
