100 male and female swimmers from the Emirates and the world participate in the development and training program in Bahrain

KUWAIT, 8th January, 2018 (WAM) – The International Federation of Aquatics announced the participation of 100 male and female swimmers from the Emirates and the rest of the world in the training, development and study program to be held in Bahrain during next September, in cooperation with the Bahrain University of Technology.
His Excellency Hussein Al-Musallam, President of the Federation, said in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that many of the world’s swimmers face a bright future, provided that they benefit from the International Federation’s sports missions included in the study, starting from the important station in Bahrain.
He announced that the World Swimming Championships will be held in Singapore next July, with the participation of more than 2,500 male and female athletes from 210 countries to compete in 6 different water games, in addition to other world championships in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in 2025, noting that Qatar has achieved great success in hosting the World Swimming Championships. Water last February.
He added that the year 2024 witnessed distinguished and notable achievements and historical moments with the breaking of a number of world records, in addition to unprecedented global cooperation, which strengthened the federation’s position as a leading force in promoting positivity, through several tournaments, including the World Championship in Qatar with the participation of 2,600 athletes. And sports, all the way to the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, which marked a new turning point for the International Federation by breaking world records and an unprecedented increase in global interaction with water sports.
He pointed out that water sports in Paris recorded 1.3 billion interactions on social media, and 609 million video views, explaining that the World Championships in Hungary last December witnessed the achievement of 30 world records for juniors, 46 records for championships, and 63 continental records.
He explained that the International Federation has invested significantly in promoting international development through scholarship and guidance programs, initiatives to learn the basics of swimming, and adopting a framework for sustainability, in addition to working with the United Nations and UNESCO in swimming education programs, especially for children, by providing many African countries with trainers. qualified, a step that represented a big leap into the future.
Regarding the strategy of creating a champion, Al-Musallam said, “This program began practically in 2022 through a curriculum that was updated within a comprehensive plan to provide technical support, provide trainers, and spread the culture of swimming in society, as Angola, China, and Vietnam were among the first countries to benefit from This project, and we welcome the development of swimming in the Gulf countries due to the presence of modern facilities, the best coaches and distinguished talents.”
