“Loyalty to the wife.” Tomorrow’s Friday sermon in all mosques in the country

The General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments announced that tomorrow’s Friday sermon in all mosques in the country will be entitled “Loyalty to the Wife.” This topic comes within the Authority’s efforts to promote moral values and family principles established by the Islamic religion, which are the basis for building a cohesive and harmonious society.

The sermon highlights the importance of loyalty to one’s wife as it is a noble moral and one of the pillars of a happy married life. It addresses a number of topics, including:

The Wife: A Source of Reassurance and Mercy: The sermon reviews the role of the wife as a mother of the family and a builder of generations, and how God Almighty made her a source of tranquility and serenity, citing the noble verse: “And among His signs is that He created for you wives from among yourselves that you may find tranquility in them, and He has put love and mercy between you.”
Loyalty as a prophetic covenant: The sermon praises the loyalty of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, to his wives, and recalls his noble hadith: “A believing man should not rub shoulders with a believing woman. If he dislikes one of her characteristics, another will be pleased with her.”

It is more appropriate for every husband to be loyal to his wife, faithful in his dealings with her, generous and not stingy with his money and his feelings towards her, in fulfillment of the strong covenant and the strong covenant between him and her. God Almighty said: “And We have taken from you a solemn covenant.”

The wife’s rights to be treated well: The sermon calls on husbands to respect the rights of their wives, and to deal with them with love and appreciation, as Islam commands: “And treat them with kindness.”
Justice between wives: For those who are preparing to marry, the sermon emphasizes the necessity of being just, and warns against inclination that may cause injustice, citing the verse: “So do not incline completely, lest you leave it like a hanging animal.”

Loyalty to one’s wife is a noble character, and an obligation upon every religious person. It characterizes people of chivalry and manliness, and characterizes people of virtue and chivalry. Our Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the best example to follow in his loyalty to his wives. He recognizes their virtues, praises their deeds, appreciates their giving, and overlooks their mistakes.

Part of a husband’s loyalty to his wife is to be with her in her time of need, and take care of her when she gets sick. How much hardship she suffered during her pregnancy and childbirth, and how many nights she stayed up for the sake of her children and her husband. What is the matter with some husbands who neglect their wife if she becomes ill, or leave her when she grows old, and perhaps in a hurry? To divorce her, as she desperately needs her husband.
