Yemen – The de facto Houthi authorities agree to resume humanitarian air transport service in Sanaa

UN Coordinator Julian Harness stated that this step will allow employees of non-governmental organizations to enter and leave Sanaa, which is necessary to enable the delivery of humanitarian aid to millions of people in need in areas under the control of de facto authorities.

It is noteworthy that the humanitarian situation in Yemen is still difficult. It is estimated that 23 million people – more than half the population – are in need of humanitarian assistance this year.

This includes more than 18 million people in need of food. It is expected that half of Yemen’s children this year will suffer from malnutrition.
