Hamdan bin Mohammed honors Rubal Naji, winner of the World’s Best Teacher Award 2026

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, honored the Indian teacher Rupal Naji, winner of the World’s Best Teacher Award 2026, during the World Government Summit activities hosted by Dubai, in the presence of an elite group of thought leaders, decision makers and experts from various countries of the world.

The World’s Best Teacher Award is considered one of the most prestigious educational awards at the international level, with a value of one million US dollars, and is granted by the Varkey Education Foundation in cooperation with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in honor of teachers who have made exceptional contributions to the development of education and have made a tangible impact on the lives of their students and their communities.

The award annually attracts thousands of nominations from around the world, with entries subjected to rigorous evaluation processes supervised by independent international arbitration committees, which take into account the criteria of educational innovation, societal impact, and commitment to the mission of education, all the way to selecting the winner who embodies the best educational practices globally.

Honoring the winner during the World Government Summit reflects the advanced position that the UAE occupies in supporting global educational initiatives, and consolidating the role of the teacher as the cornerstone of building societies and shaping the future, in line with the country’s vision that places education at the heart of sustainable development strategies.
