The UAE sends 700 tons of food supplies to those affected by floods in Somalia

The UAE sent 700 tons of urgent food supplies to those affected by the floods that swept several areas in Somalia, as part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts to support people affected by natural disasters.
This aid comes within the directives of the wise leadership to enhance humanitarian efforts and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Somali people, as the aid shipments include basic food baskets to meet the needs of approximately 150,000 people from affected families, and to provide urgent support to communities affected by the floods.
In this context, the UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ahmed Juma Al Rumaithi, stressed that this aid embodies the UAE’s commitment to stand by the brotherly Somali people in these difficult circumstances.
He added: “This initiative is an extension of the strong fraternal relations between the UAE and Somalia, which reflects the keenness of the wise leadership of the UAE to provide all forms of support and assistance to the affected communities. We will continue to work in cooperation with local and international bodies to ensure that this aid reaches the largest possible number of people in need, thus contributing to alleviating their suffering and accelerating the recovery process.”
This humanitarian bridge confirms the UAE’s pioneering role in responding to humanitarian crises around the world, and its continued support for brotherly and friendly countries in times of crises, in line with its humanitarian mission seeking to achieve stability and development throughout the world.
