The Head of State receives the President of Burundi

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received today the President of the Republic of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, who is on a working visit to the country.
His Highness welcomed the Burundian President – during the meeting that took place at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi – and congratulated him on the occasion of his country’s “Unity Day”, which falls on February 5, wishing Burundi and its people progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation, especially in the economic, investment, renewable energy and other vital areas that represent development priorities in the two countries, stressing their mutual keenness to diversify the frameworks of cooperation and joint work to advance Emirati-Burundian relations in a way that brings goodness and development to their peoples.
His Highness and the President of Burundi also reviewed a number of issues and topics of concern to the two countries and exchanged views on them, stressing the importance of consolidating the causes of regional and global peace and stability, which constitutes the basic basis for advancing sustainable development paths in societies and building a more stable and prosperous future for all.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, and a number of sheikhs, ministers and senior officials.
