A scooter driver was injured in the Naif area due to “driving against traffic”

The Dubai Police General Command has warned of the dangers of driving against traffic, which leads to an increase in the possibility of fatal collisions due to direct confrontation between vehicles, endangering the lives of drivers and pedestrians, causing traffic disruption, and causing huge material and human losses.
Brigadier Jumaa Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Traffic Department, said that driving a vehicle, bicycle, or scooter against the flow of traffic represents a direct threat to the lives of drivers, and is one of the most prominent causes of fatal accidents, calling on all road users to adhere to the correct lanes and respect traffic rules in order to preserve their safety and the safety of others.
This came after a scooter driver was seriously injured in a collision between a scooter and a vehicle on an internal street in the Naif area, due to him riding the scooter against the direction of traffic, which led to him directly colliding with the vehicle, and sustaining severe injuries after which he was transferred to receive treatment in the hospital.
Brigadier General Jumaa bin Suwaidan explained that the details of the accident are due to the command and control room in the General Directorate of Operations receiving a report about the accident, and immediately traffic patrols and ambulance teams moved to the site.
Brigadier General Jumaa bin Suwaidan stressed the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations, stressing that such dangerous behaviors may lead to serious consequences for drivers and other road users, whether in terms of lives or property.
Brigadier General Jumaa bin Suwaidan also confirmed that Dubai Police continues to implement traffic awareness campaigns aimed at reducing dangerous behavior on the roads, and will take strict legal measures against violators, in support of road security and community safety.
