Announcing the names of the winners of the date packaging competition within the Al Wathba Festival

ABU DHABI, 11 JANUARY / WAM / The Al Wathba Dates Festival, in its second session, announced the names of the winners of the date packaging competition in the categories (stuffed dates and plain dates), while the competitions will continue until next February 28, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority within the activities of the Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Al Wathba area. The results in the plain date packaging competition resulted in Khatira Khalifa Abdullah winning first place, while second place went to Fatima Hassan Al Mazrouei, and third place went to Fatima Khalifa Al Shamsi, while Rashid Abdullah Al Marar won first place in the stuffed date packaging competition.
The Dates Festival witnesses wide participation from farmers and date producers, who compete in 12 competitions to package 6 varieties of dates, for which 120 prizes are allocated with a total value exceeding two million dirhams.
The festival aims to support the agricultural sector, develop the date industry, enhance food security, and encourage producers and farmers to develop their production, in addition to providing an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences between them, and providing visitors with the opportunity through entertainment and educational activities to learn about the importance of palm trees in the Emirati heritage.
