The Secretary-General of the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, said that the Academy works in the context of serving its goals and specializations in many tracks, namely planning, linguistic policy, cultural programs, and educational programs, in addition to linguistic computing.
He added, “The complex’s strategy is consistent with Saudi Vision 2030, which stipulates the historical depth and the deep identity that the Arabic language represents for our country. We are active under the directives and constant support of His Highness the Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan.”

International activity

He continued: We work in more than 60 countries and are active in programs related to education for children, families, adults and non-Arabs, research and studies, and various tracks of conferences, seminars and major events.
This came during the King Salman Academy’s celebration of International Arabic Language Day, under the patronage of His Highness the Minister of Culture and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, entitled: (The Arabic Language in Islamic Countries) at the organization’s headquarters in Jeddah.
Al-Washmi said, regarding the path of the Arabic language in international organizations, “We are working on many paths, as we have completed the 2024 programs in the United Nations, the League of Arab States, and others, and as for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, we are concluding today the 2024 programs that were implemented in cooperation with this organization.” With many paths.”

He continued: “Today’s event is being held and includes a group of scientific sessions and meetings. Therefore, specialists, experts, countries and representations are participating with us, based on the fact that our Arabic language is a comprehensive language for Islamic peoples. This event will be accompanied by the implementation of an exhibition of the Arabic language held by the Academy to learn about its history, culture and its growing international presence.”

Programs and versions of the assembler

Al-Washami explained that in 2024, the complex implemented a set of programs, the most important of which was training more than 10,000 government employees belonging to more than 80 institutions.
He also launched more than 300 publications, representing 1,500 distinguished scientific papers, 6 peer-reviewed scientific journals published and available to beneficiaries, more than 114 periodicals, and a huge blog of more than a billion and a half words.

In addition to the launch of the “Siwar” platform, which includes many and varied dictionaries, a group of specific initiatives related to education, and an Arabic channel for children, in addition to the Abjad Center, whose classrooms and halls provide an opportunity for continuous study for students of more than 39 nationalities.
He explained that all of these programs and activities are integrated in serving our language and its authentic sciences of grammar, morphology, and rhetoric.
