The first edition of the Sharjah Literature Festival begins on January 17

Sharjah, January 11 / WAM / The first edition of the “Sharjah Literature Festival” will be launched on January 17, under the slogan “Emirates Stories Inspire the Future,” under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the directives of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President. The Board of Directors of the Sharjah Book Authority, Honorary President of the Emirates Publishers Association, to reserve a place on the agenda of the emirate’s annual cultural events.

Jointly organized by the Emirates Publishers Association and the Sharjah Book Authority, the festival’s activities will continue until January 21 in the square opposite the University City Hall in Sharjah. The festival has a rich program of exceptional events that celebrate the Emirati literary heritage, and provides the exhibition’s audience with a unique opportunity to interact with the inspiring stories of the Emirates. Narrated by a group of the most important creative Emirati writers, thinkers and publishers, exploring new horizons in the world of writing and publishing, and enjoying an atmosphere that blends… Between culture and entertainment.

The festival’s program includes a selection of literary, cultural and entertainment activities inspired by the festival’s slogan and falling within 9 main themes, including: literature, children’s literature, history, heritage, essay literature, the Arabic language, science fiction, fantasy, biography, thought, and miscellaneous events.

Over the course of its five days, the festival organizes a book fair to display and sell the latest publications by Emirati publishers, in addition to allocating a corner for various activities and spaces for food experiences, which creates an integrated atmosphere that combines thought, creativity and entertainment for all visitors.
