In details, Damascus witnessed a remarkable event with the arrival of Majd Jadaan, Maher al-Assad’s sister-in-law, to the Syrian capital amid a huge popular reception, where she was received with Levantine protest and ululations, as social media pioneers circulated video clips documenting the distinctive atmosphere that dominated the moment of her arrival, and the massive and enthusiastic reception. Which was enjoyed by Majd Jadaan.

In her first words, Majd Jadaan described her return as “the return of the soul,” expressing her gratitude for the warm reception. She also mentioned in an interview with Syria TV that she had followed the course of events since the beginning of the Syrian revolution “moment by moment,” as she said, stressing her belief that “victory was A matter of time,” she said, “I felt a taste of joy for the first time in many years, as if time was taking us back to the beginning.”
Majd Jadaan is known for her opposition to the Assad regime, which is why she was forced to leave Syria 17 years ago.
