The UAE is keen on development cooperation with all countries of the Caucasus.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received yesterday the President of the friendly Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, who is on a working visit to the country, during which he participates in the activities of “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.”
His Highness welcomed the President of Azerbaijan and thanked him for answering the invitation to participate in “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.” He also congratulated him on his country’s success in hosting the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and the important results it reached, noting that the President’s efforts inspire Aliyev and global trust in Azerbaijan played a key role in the success of the conference.
In this context, His Highness said that the UAE is keen to cooperate with Azerbaijan and other countries in the field of global climate action, based on its belief in the importance of collective action in facing common global challenges.
During the meeting that took place at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Highness and the Azerbaijani President discussed cooperation paths and ways to develop them, especially in the economic, investment and development fields, renewable energy, climate action, and other vital aspects that serve the common interests of the two countries and contribute to achieving their aspirations towards sustainable development and prosperity for their peoples. His Highness the President pointed to the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy and renewable energy, including joint wind and solar energy projects.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on a number of topics and issues of common interest, and His Highness stressed the UAE’s interest in strengthening its cooperation in the fields of development with all countries of the Caucasus region, especially Azerbaijan.
The meeting also touched on the topics presented by Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, and their importance in enhancing international awareness of sustainability issues.
For his part, the President of Azerbaijan thanked His Highness the President of the State for inviting him to participate in the “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week,” and praised the warm reception he received during the visit, stressing his country’s keenness to strengthen its relations with the UAE, which is witnessing continuous development and growth at various levels. He also praised the UAE’s efforts to enhance cooperation and teamwork in confronting common global challenges, including climate change.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor, His Highness Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, and the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Fares Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, and the Minister of Investment, Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Head of the Department of Finance in Abu Dhabi, Jassim Mohammed Buataba Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mohammed Murad Al Balushi, and a number of officials.
The President of Azerbaijan arrived in the country earlier, yesterday, where he was received, upon his arrival at the presidential airport in Abu Dhabi, by His Highness the President of the State, and was also received by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, and Minister His Excellency, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, the Head of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs, the Head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, and the UAE Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Muhammad Murad. Al-Balushi.
