His Excellency Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, confirmed that the first edition of the tournament achieved great success and established its position as one of the most prominent sports tournaments on the local scene. It attracted more than 10,000 male and female players across 5 rounds, all of which were characterized by high levels of competition, and were a prominent platform for discovering… Talents and honing them, and contributed to developing the skills of male and female players of different age groups.
He added that the second edition of the tournament opens the new season’s competitions to be an extension of this success, as it builds on the gains achieved by the first edition, and strengthens its position as an exceptional sporting event that contributes to the advancement of the sport of jiu-jitsu locally and internationally. He pointed out that the latest edition of the tournament is an opportunity for male and female players to continue Developing their skills within an ideal competitive environment, which reflects the aspirations of the wise leadership to support sports and create distinguished generations of champions.
The first round of the tournament is witnessing unprecedented registration rates, as the number of players registered so far has reached more than 2,000 male and female players from various clubs and academies across the country.
The competitions are based on a comprehensive classification system aimed at enhancing the spirit of competition and developing individual and group skills.
The competitions begin on Friday with bouts in the adult, masters and youth categories (under 18 years), while the second day is devoted to competitions for juniors under 14 and 16 years, and the third day is for competitions in the categories of cubs, under 12 years, and buds, aged 4-8 years.
