We congratulate the winners of the Zayed Sustainability Prize 2025 who presented important and inspiring initiatives and innovations.

This came during His Highness’s honoring of the winners of the “Zayed Sustainability Prize” for the year 2025 at the awards ceremony held today within the activities of “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week” in the presence of 11 heads of state, along with ministers, officials and business leaders. His Highness congratulated the winners and praised their achievements in the field of sustainability, encouraging… They continue their work and efforts to provide international work in this field with more visions and creative ideas.

His Highness said on his official account on the “X” website: “We congratulate the winners of the “Zayed Sustainability Prize” 2025 who presented important and inspiring initiatives and innovations that expressed their commitment to their communities and humanity, and I look forward to their continuing work and effort to supplement international work in the field of sustainability with more visions and creative ideas. The award embodies the importance that the UAE attaches to supporting sustainability in the world and its consistent and continuous approach in this field.”

For his part, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Director General of the Zayed Sustainability Prize, praised the efforts of the winners to provide innovative and flexible solutions to address the most pressing challenges in the world.

On this occasion, he said: “The Zayed Sustainability Prize continues its commitment to contributing to achieving sustainable development and improving societies, in line with the vision and directives of the wise leadership, and today we are proud to honor an inspiring group of institutions and secondary schools that contribute effectively to advancing progress efforts towards a more prosperous future.” He noted. This year’s winners’ solutions are based on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, and are distinguished by their efficiency in enhancing climate resilience and their ability to achieve scalable impact on a global scale.


He added that the innovative solutions presented by the winners this year embody the gains that can be achieved through innovation, most notably accelerating sustainable development and supporting social and economic growth.

Olafur Ragnar Grímsson, Chairman of the Zayed Sustainability Prize Jury and former President of the Republic of Iceland, said: “This year’s winners demonstrated exceptional levels of innovation in addressing critical global challenges, and made tangible contributions to reducing the damage caused by climate change and providing more sustainable solutions to access to care.” health, energy, food and water, especially in communities that need support.”

He added, “The winners have the necessary capabilities to make a significant positive impact that can be expanded on a global scale, and there is no doubt that their contributions will have a significant impact in accelerating the achievement of the sustainable development goals.”

This year, the award honored 11 institutions and high schools with innovative solutions from around the world, which embodies the UAE’s commitment to supporting widely applicable innovations to address global challenges and enable societies to achieve sustainable prosperity.

The winners of the award for 2025 were selected by a jury of specialized experts, in six categories, including health, food, energy, water, climate action, and international high schools.

In the health category, Berrywinkle Technologies from India won the award for its portable device powered by artificial intelligence to screen for cervical cancer. The device works without the need for electricity, making it ideal for use in remote areas and underserved communities.


The device provides test results within 30 seconds, which enhances early detection of the disease and improves women’s health.


The number of women who have benefited from the device so far has reached more than 300,000 women in India.

In the food category, Navarm Foods from Nigeria won the award for its hybrid solar food dryers that help avoid post-harvest losses and reduce food waste and carbon emissions. So far, 80 drying units have been distributed across 6 Nigerian states, benefiting more than 65,000 farmers, in addition to their contribution to reducing carbon emissions by 50,000 metric tons annually, and empowering more than 18,000 women and the younger generation through raising awareness programs. Skills.

In the energy category, Balki Motors from Bangladesh won the award for its affordable, locally manufactured, lightweight electric vehicles designed specifically for commercial drivers.

These vehicles, which are priced at $4,990, meet the unique transportation needs of the region. The company also operates a network of solar-powered stations to replace batteries, with the number of beneficiaries reaching 23,000 people.

In the water category, the non-profit organization “Sky Goose Foundation” from Australia won the award for its innovative solution (SkyHydrant) for water treatment, which is characterized by its low cost, ease of use, and ability to provide clean, drinkable water to entire communities.

The solution works by the force of gravity, relying on low-pressure membrane filters to provide clean drinking water without the need for chemicals, pumps, or external energy sources.

The company installed 9,000 water units in 74 countries, producing one billion gallons of safe drinking water, benefiting more than 3 million people.

In the climate action category, the non-profit organization “Open Map Development Tanzania” from Tanzania won the award for its innovative mapping solutions, based on the integration of community-derived data and advanced technologies including drones, geographic information systems and remote sensing.

The number of beneficiaries of its solutions has so far reached 140,000 people, in addition to creating 100 job opportunities and allowing the participation of more than 1,000 people from the younger generation in initiatives concerned with community health.

On the other hand, the Zayed Sustainability Prize, through the Global High Schools category, provides exceptional opportunities for the next generation of young sustainability leaders to enable them to lead progress in their communities. Through 2025, the 56 high school award winners in this category have made a positive impact in the lives of more than 56,599 students and 480,660 people in their local communities.

The list of schools that won the award for the year 2025 in the global secondary schools category included: “Centro de Estudios Technolochecos del Mar 7” from Mexico for the Americas region, “Scavia Islamic Senior High School” from Ghana for the sub-Saharan Africa region, and “ Happy Land International School” from the Emirates for the Middle East and North Africa region, “Presidential School in Tashkent” from Uzbekistan for the Europe and Central Asia region, and “Janamitry Multiple Camps from Nepal for the South Asia region, and Te Pau Rakai Hutu from New Zealand for the East Asia and Pacific region.

It is noteworthy that the Zayed Sustainability Prize was launched by the United Arab Emirates to encourage innovative solutions that address global sustainability challenges with the aim of advancing sustainable development around the world, in commemoration of the legacy and vision of the founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul.”

Each year, the award honors institutions and high schools that provide innovative solutions that meet our planet’s most pressing needs, in the categories of Health, Food, Energy, Water, Climate Action and Global High Schools.

During its 17-year history, the award, through the solutions of its 117 previous winners, has made a positive impact on the lives of more than 407 million people in the world, and inspired innovators to expand their impact and build a sustainable future for all.
