المملكة: The Traffic Safety Committee stresses the protection of children inside vehicles

The Ministerial Committee for Traffic Safety stressed the importance of parents and drivers adhering to traffic safety procedures to protect children while they are inside vehicles.
She stressed that negligence in implementing these procedures could lead to serious risks that endanger the lives of children.

The most important safety instructions

The committee explained that choosing a safety seat appropriate for the child’s age and weight is one of the most important means of protection that guarantees his safety in the event of accidents. It also warned of the necessity of not leaving the child in the seat designated for him without supervision, in addition to avoiding keeping him in the seat for a period exceeding thirty continuous minutes in order to preserve his comfort and health.
The committee stressed the importance of using vehicles equipped with rear seats designated for children, noting that they are the ideal option to ensure their safety during travel.
It also called for taking regular breaks during long trips to allow children to move and avoid stress resulting from sitting for long periods.

The committee indicated that these tips come within national efforts to enhance the culture of traffic safety, calling on everyone to commit to implementing them to reduce accidents and ensure the protection of lives. She stressed that children’s safety is a shared responsibility that requires awareness and cooperation from all members of society.
