The UAE supports all international frameworks for the benefit of development and prosperity for all

Today, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the friendly Republic of Uzbekistan, discussed paths of cooperation and joint work between the two countries, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.

This came while His Highness received, at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi, the President of Uzbekistan, who is on an official visit to the country during which he participates in the “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.”

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed promising opportunities to expand cooperation horizons, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields, in addition to renewable energy, environment, sustainability and other aspects that serve the visions of the two countries towards achieving development and sustainable economic prosperity in a way that serves their common interests and brings good to their people.

The meeting discussed the importance of the topics on the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week agenda in enhancing international awareness of the issue of sustainability, in addition to providing a global platform for exchanging visions and experiences, which contributes to enhancing cooperation in facing common global challenges, most notably climate change.

During the meeting, the two sides also reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common interest and exchanged views on them, stressing in this context the importance of advancing the efforts of the international community to achieve security, stability and peace in the region and the world, which is an essential foundation for development, progress and achieving a better future for future generations.

His Highness the President of the State thanked the Uzbek President for accepting the invitation to participate in “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week,” stressing that the UAE pays attention to developing its relations with the Republic of Uzbekistan, which are based on solid foundations of trust, respect, and mutual interests, and has many promising opportunities to develop them, especially in the areas of Sustainability, economy and investment, which constitute an important tributary to the prosperity of the two countries’ economies.


His Highness pointed to the fruitful cooperation between the UAE and Uzbekistan in the field of renewable energy and important projects and investments in this field. His Highness also stressed the country’s keenness to support all international multilateral frameworks for the benefit of development and prosperity for all.

For his part, the Uzbek President thanked His Highness the President for the warm reception, stressing his country’s keenness to diversify the base of its relations with the UAE, especially investment, economic and development, in light of the two countries’ shared vision towards achieving sustainable development for their people.
