المملكة: 52 million riyals to develop the Zamzam water system and improve the experience of the pilgrims

The General Authority for Endowments announced the launch of the project to develop the Zamzam water system, with funding amounting to 52 million riyals, in partnership with the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque and the Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz National Foundation, as part of joint efforts to develop the services provided to the guests of God, the pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims in the Two Holy Mosques. And achieving the best standards of quality and excellence in providing services.
The project aims to improve Zamzam water services in the Two Holy Mosques through a set of qualitative initiatives that focus on developing infrastructure and enhancing performance efficiency, ensuring the provision of high-quality water and easy access to all visitors.

Development of water pumps

These initiatives include the use of fixed and mobile drinkers in the Two Holy Mosques to ensure easy access to Zamzam water, the development of water pumps to improve pumping efficiency and ensure continuity of service, in addition to a project to prepare a tanker unloading point in the Prophet’s Mosque to meet the growing demand for Zamzam water in Medina.
The project also includes the supply and installation of modern refrigerators to cool Zamzam water bottles in the Grand Mosque in Mecca, and the establishment of a central water cooling station in the Prophet’s Mosque, which contributes to raising the level of comfort and service provided to visitors.
In addition, the project includes developing a Zamzam water filling point in the Two Holy Mosques to meet the growing demand in an innovative and rapid way, as well as developing the Zamzam Water Laboratory, which aims to ensure the quality of the water provided by applying the highest health and safety standards.

A qualitative step

This project represents a qualitative step in improving the experience of more than 30 million pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims annually, as it contributes to raising the efficiency of the services provided and reducing the waiting time to obtain water, which ensures the provision of a unique and distinctive experience to the pilgrims in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The General Authority of Endowments confirms that this project reflects its continued commitment to developing the system of services provided in the Two Holy Mosques in partnership with the relevant authorities, in order to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership in serving the guests of God, and enhance the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a qibla for Muslims and a leading destination in providing distinguished services to pilgrims and Umrah performers.
