المملكة: 164 new geological maps to support mining and investment in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Geological Survey announced the launch of new geological data packages, coinciding with the launch of the Future of Mining Conference in the capital, Riyadh.
This launch confirms the vital role played by the Authority in enhancing the added value of the mining sector in the Kingdom, by providing comprehensive and reliable geological data that supports exploration for mineral resources, and contributes to attracting local and foreign investments in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 aimed at diversifying… Sources of income and revitalization of the national economy.

The Authority’s official spokesman, Tariq Aba Al-Khail, explained that the new data packages will be made available through the National Geological Database platform, noting that the Authority published 43 aerial geophysical survey maps during the last period, bringing the total number of published maps to 164 maps, representing 65 percent. % of the total number of 252 aerial geophysical survey maps.

He also pointed out that the content of the surface geochemical survey data packages for valley sediments was updated, as maps of distributions of individual elements and statistical interpretations of chemical elements were added, which raised the coverage rate to 20% from the previous presentation, with coverage of ten geological squares out of fifty squares.
Aba Al-Khail stressed that this step comes within the framework of the Authority’s efforts to enhance transparency and provide accurate data that serves investors in the mining sector, which contributes to achieving sustainable development goals and supports the Kingdom’s march towards a diversified, knowledge-based economic future.
