The Head of State and the Prime Minister of Albania discuss relations between the two countries

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and Edi Rama, Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, discussed various aspects of joint cooperation and ways to enhance and push it forward, especially in areas that support development in the two countries, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

During the meeting, which took place at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Highness the President welcomed the Prime Minister of Albania, who is on a working visit to the country during which he participates in “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.”

The two sides reviewed the possibilities of expanding the base of the two countries’ common interests and investing in available opportunities to strengthen their relations at various levels for the sake of a better future for their people, especially cooperation in the economic, investment and development fields.

The meeting discussed the importance of the topics on the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week agenda in enhancing international awareness of the issue of sustainability and the global platform it provides for presenting visions and exchanging experiences, which contributes to enhancing joint international action in confronting common global challenges, most notably climate change.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Edi Rama also witnessed the signing of an agreement regarding the establishment of the “Albatris” company, which specializes in providing financial solutions that enable the government of Albania to supervise taxable products and ensure compliance with standards and specifications.

The agreement was signed by Khaled Mohammed Salem Balama Al Tamimi, Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, and His Excellency Petrit Malaj, Albanian Minister of Finance.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the State, and Reem. Bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Mohammed Hassan Al Suwaidi, Minister Investment, Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, Ali Al Yabhouni Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Greece, Non-Resident Ambassador to Albania, and a number of senior officials.
