Emirates Sky Cargo begins 2025 with a 15% increase in capacity

Demand for the specialized product portfolio of Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo arm of Emirates Airlines, and its extensive global network and fleet of wide-body aircraft, witnessed significant growth during 2024.
The carrier stated in a statement yesterday that it had leased two additional Boeing 747 cargo aircraft to meet the increasing global demand, allowing it to start the year 2025 with a 15% growth in main cargo capacity, compared to January 2024.
Emirates Senior Vice President of Cargo, Badr Abbas, said: “We invested significantly during 2024 in new and leased cargo aircraft to meet the evolving supply chain and air freight requirements around the world and to ensure that we have a stable supply of capacity to best serve our global customers.” “This remains Emirates Sky Cargo’s top priority as we look forward to a new era of growth.”
He added: “We expect demand to continue to grow, reflecting Dubai’s position as a global logistics hub. From this standpoint, strengthening our capabilities in the field of shipping is essential to support the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda, enable us to reach new destinations, enhance our current operations, and raise the level of our specialized product portfolio.” ».
The multi-year lease contract for the two Boeing 747 aircraft was signed with the Compass Group, one of Emirates SkyCargo’s long-standing and trusted partners, as this investment in the cargo capacity of the Boeing F747 aircraft allows the carrier to provide immediate capacity to meet customer demand. At a time when the two parties are discussing ways to expand cooperation further.
The Emirates SkyCargo fleet currently consists of 10 Boeing F777 aircraft, in addition to six leased Boeing 747 aircraft, bringing the number of aircraft to 16 aircraft, and the company has 13 Boeing F777 aircraft on order. It is expected to be delivered between 2025 and 2026.
